Young Creative Minds raps up its first Art Festival at Witbank Civic Theatre with a BANG!

Young Creative Minds (YCM) raps up its first Art Festival at Witbank Civic Theatre with a bang, more than two thousand learners from the seven local schools (Alex Mampana Primary School, Carrisa Primary School, E-DU College, Pine Ridge Combined School, Hoërskool Patriot, Hoërskool Reynopark, Zacheus Malaza Secondary School) have participated in the festival. This initiative, which is a collaboration between YCM, and the Department of Basic Education (DoBE) saw learners walk away with prizes after performing their Creative Arts formal task on the big stage with a huge audience.

YCM is an organization that seeks to encourage young people to express themselves through the use of art while tackling socio-economic issues, this term learners were given four topics to unpack and come up with solutions. The topics included Bullying, Global Warming, Drug & Alcohol Abuse as well as Vandalism, these issues are rife in our respectable communities and bringing them to light in our local schools will assist the learners in advocating and contributing towards solving a problem faced by the district.

YCM would like to appreciate all the learners, their teachers and the principals of schools that took part in making this dream a reality. This is the beginning of a new era.
